Located at Carrer Lleida, 38 in Barcelona, "IL GOLFO DI NAPOLI" is an Italian pizzeria and restaurant. Opened in 1997, it is one of the oldest establishments in Barcelona. In addition to its long history, it boasts the distinction of being the city's first Neapolitan restaurant specialized in seafood cuisine.

Among the specialties of our restaurant are our exquisite seafood pasta dishes, fresh fish, and typical Neapolitan dishes made with ingredients that come directly from Naples, such as the famous "mozzarella di bufala."

As it could not be otherwise, our restaurant also offers pizzas in the true Neapolitan style, baked in a wood-fired oven, following the centuries-old tradition of Neapolitan pizza.

Furthermore, the restaurant offers a long and always varied selection of homemade Neapolitan and Italian desserts such as "tiramisù" or "pastiera," among many others.

OUR HISTORY

The restaurant "Il Golfo di Napoli" was founded by chef Giovanni de Cicco and Vincenzo Crispo in November 1997, making it one of the oldest Italian restaurants in all of Barcelona. It all began in the summer of 1996 when Giovanni decided to leave his city, Naples, to spend a summer working in the kitchens of various Italian restaurants in Barcelona.

In the end, what had started as a summer turned into more than a year and a half. During this period, Giovanni's experience as a cook was thoroughly tested, which gave him the motivation to decide to open his own restaurant, together with his brother-in-law Vincenzo. This decision also arose from a conviction: in Barcelona, although there were many Italian and Neapolitan restaurants, there was none that truly offered the best of the maritime tradition of Neapolitan cuisine.

With this idea, the two Neapolitans opened "Il Golfo di Napoli," with the goal of becoming the best Neapolitan restaurant in Barcelona, specializing in fish, seafood, and, of course, pizza. In 2017, the premises were expanded and everything was completely renovated.
